2008 in review

Since it's the last day of the year I reviewed my projects and selected my favorites for 2008.
I want to thank you all for visiting my blog and leaving wonderful comments this past year.
I wish every a wonderful, healty new year, full of love and creativity!!!

2008 has been a wonderful year for me. My health is improving finally and Henri asked me to marry him. I love him so much and I'm looking forward to the big day every single moment. We are enjoying the preparations together. We found a wonderful location, a great marriage show and selected our favorite photografer.
Three of our friends became mom&dad for the first time this year and we love seeing their babys growing up.
We also got to spend some wonderful times with our family, and our nieces are soooooo cute!
Ofcourse we had the best vacation ever! The resort was awesome and I hope to go back there once more.
Henri made me my own scraproom, which is a mess ever since, but I LOVE it! I feel most creative when all my stuff is around me and I have to dig for embellishments :)
This year I was choosen to be a DT member for Graphic45, which is really amazing and of course my work is published this year in Scrapbook Magazine.
The holiday season was great, we've spend it with our family and presents, a lot of comfort and joy!
So for now I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Newborn girl Quinty

It's been a while, I know... we've been away for a few days and a lot is happened since.
Saturday my dear friend Jessica gave birth to a wonderful little girl, her name is Quinty. I haven't been able to visit her, because she's in the hospital and not allowed to have much visitors because she's to weak. Luckily her condition is improving and Quinty is doing fine right now.
I can't wait to see her and the little girl and I created this card for her yesterday.
Hope you've enjoyed your holidays!

Graphic45 blog

Well, I'm finally started creating my next Scrapbook Magazine projects and I'm totally excited.
Things are working out the way I want to and I believe my mini is going to be gorgeous. I'm also working on three layouts at the same time, so I wonder what's going to be published.

In the previous Scrapbook Magazine were two Graphic45 projects published.
You can see them here.
Hilde is doing a great job with the Graphic45 blog. She's gathering so many project and creates a huge source of inspiration over there. So please have look and join us with the new sketches on Wednesday!

Have a nice weekend.

Now what!?!

I seriously have a dilemma....
Do you ever think it's a pity to cut into a paper because it's so beautiful?
Wel I do....
Yesterday I went to Paper & Pictures to get some new material for the next Scrapbook Magazine. Miranda made me a bag with the most gorgeous new papers of this moment and gave me free hand on the design. I know, it's just awesome to get an assignment like that, but seriously.... I think it's a shame to cut them! I've spend all afternoon and evening staring from one paper to another. Thinking about the perfect design to go with the papers. Will it be a mini? Or better some clean layouts, so you can still see the papers. Shall I alter a project or create something technical? I really haven't got the remotest idea.....

Xmas cheer!

This weekend we celebrated Lia's (my aunt) birthday. Saturday Artur surprised her with a lunch at ''t Veerhuys' in Opheusden. All her friends and family were there. We all had a really great time and an outstanding lunch. Artur sure knows how to organize a party :)

Since it was a surprise, Lia had already done her shopping for Sunday, so we all came together again yesterday to join the after party. I tended to take some Christmas pictures of my niece Indy yesterday, but she kept running away. So I wasn't able to take a clean shot, but when I saw this weeks Pencil lines sketch I knew immediately what to do with the photo's....

I've used October Afternoon papers and rubons (Gingerbread, Tinsel, Falling Snow and Peppermint sticks paper, Merry&Bright and All the best rubons)
There are some Making Memories tiny alpha's and stamps on it, as well as Prima Say it in crystals, white cardstock and Ranger stickles.

Thanks for looking!

Pfff....

Saturday I've received my Get Inspired kit. The theme is Vintage Variety and I always love the kit because it's so different. Combinations of papers I usually never buy and that makes the kit so inspireing to me. I'm a huge Sassafrass fan but I would never have bought these papers so I decided to scrap them right away and I'm quite happy with the result!

I've used Pencil lines sketch 114 for the design and added only the crystals and an Urban Lily rubon. The rest is from the kit, including the Making Memories foam stamps and tiny alpha's.

Thanks for looking!

12 tags of Christmas

I may have a new addiction, but that doesn't mean I've forgotten the rest.
Last year I joined Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas and this year he's back!
Yesterday he started this years tags and he's just amazing! I just love his techniques and after meeting him a few months ago I'm definitely a huge fan. IRL his techniques look even better and he talks about his work with so much enthousiasm. I hope that one day I'll be able to join one of his classes....

New addiction

I have a new addiction.
I can't stop coloring Magnolia stamps. I never really liked Tilda, but since I bought my first stamp at KreaDoe recently, I'm totally hooked.
I use Derwent pencils, Distress Ink, Copic Markers, Aquarelle pencils, Stickles, no matter what medium I just can't stop coloring. Henri thinks the little Tilda's are stupid, because they don't have a nose and a mounth, but I don't care, I just love the coloring, it's totally relaxing :)

I asked some stamps for Sinterklaas, but he didn't buy me any so I bought some myself. Truike has the Christmas and the brand new New Years collection at Paper & Pictures. I already had some Christmas stamps so I bought a few New Years stamps.

Saturday I went to Paper & Pictures for a 7Gypsies Savannah workshop. We made a wonderful album with this gorgeous line. I intented to give the album to my Mother in law for Sinterklaas yesterday, but I haven't finished it yet.
Yesterday we celebrated Sinterklaas with our little niece Iris. So cute, the way she reacted on the presents!
Are you looking forward to Thursday yet? Well I am! Members of Srapbook Magazine will receive their copy by mail that day. It will be available in stores next week.

I'll share some projects with you by the end of this week. CU!!

Some projects to share

Finally I managed to take some pictures by daylight.
I made these two layouts with the Playtimes Past collection from Graphic45.

This picture is a close-up from a Graphic45 card with a little Magnolia 'charm'. I created this little Tilda myself by stamping on shrink foil. Tilda is colored with Copic Markers and I shurk her with my heat tool.

Here's another Magnolia Christmas card. I used the Magnolia vs Stampavie sketch of week 3 to create this card. Tilda is colored with Derwent colorsoft pencils. The paper is Daisy D's Valentine collection.

I made this patchwork card for a little baby girl. I was inspired by her room with patchwork pillows. I punched out some squares and stichted them on white cardstock. The paper is also Daisy D's Valentine collection.
Unfortunately I can only show 5 pictures at a time, but I'll upload some more detailed pictures to my SISgallery.
Thanks for looking!!

Baby it's cold outside....

Hi there!
Here a quick Saturdaynight post. It's snowing right now and the temperature is declining rapidly. Brrr......
Have you seen the new website of Paper&Pictures already? It turned out great so far and I'm so proud to be a Papergirl! All the new winter workshops are on it and pretty soon there will be some more projects of the Papergirlz in the gallery.
I haven't got something to share today. All projects I made for Scrapbook Magazine will be in the next issue, so there's nothing left from that to share. I did make some more cards and I'm busy creating the November projects for Graphic45 with the beautiful Playtimes Past collection.
Since it's to dark to take pictures right now, you'll have to wait till tomorrow or Monday.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again this week!

For a proud grandma...

Elke's grandma is our neighbour and she is so proud of her little granddaughter.
She really adored my pictures of Elke so I decided to create a little mini for her, so she can watch them as many times as she wants.
The mini is made with October Afternoon Detours patterned paper, die-cuts, stamps and rubber charms. I added some ribbons, paint and a pin é voila......

donderdag 13 november 2008

Cute little baby girl

Please scroll down to the previous post to see her picture.

I am in love.....

-update-
Elke's parents asked me kindly to remove the pictures, so I did.
I had no idea good news travels so fast. And that so many people visited my blog today.
The parents appreciate privacy and I respect that.
-end-

I'm in love.... yes of course with Henri, but last night I fell in love with a beautiful little baby girl. Her name is Elke, she's born on November 11th, weights 7,5pounds and is 51cm small.
The proud parents are our true friends Chris and Janita and they are really sparkling :)

Henri and I were both allowed to hold her and she is so cute! She is really looking into the world like everything is a miracle and she puts her tiny hands in her little mouth and makes these sucking noises. Absolutely adorable!

My first Magnolia card

I don't have much time, but I want to share my first Magnolia card with you.
I've used stamp HV08 Waiting Tilda and colored her with Bruynzeel Aquarelle pencils in the colors grey and brown. The paper is from the SEI cardkit of Paper&Pictures. I also used some prima flowers and crystals, a Jenni Bowlin chipboard frame and October Afternoon christmas stamps. And with my sewing machine I stitched the edges and colored them with brushed corduroy distress ink.
I like coloring Tilda so much, that I'm really considering creating all my christmas cards myself :)

KreaDoe

Pff..... finally sitting on the couch with my husband-to-be...
Last few days were killing! I've been working on the stand of Paper & Pictures at KreaDoe2008. And boy it was crowded! Yesterday I was shopping myself, but I had to wait in line to watch a stand... Fortunately I managed to visit the stands I wanted. I bought some gorgeous beads to make some beautiful pins, and I couldn't resist buying some beads to create a special bracelet. I found sweet little matroesjka's, special pins and I bought some wonderful brown/gold swirls as well and I layed my hands on some cute new Magnolia winter stamps. So I'm quite happy with my new stuff. I already played a few hours with my beads and stamps and I'll show you some results soon.
It was very nice to meet you all at KreaDoe eventhough there wasn't always time to talk a lot.
My next Scrapbook Magazine projects are finished and I really hope you'll like them....
Have a nice evening.. I'll be back later this week with some projects to share!

XOXO
ps: I used Jolanda picture of the stand...

Wedding dress

I am going to be a queen! Not 'just' a princess but a sparkling queen!
Saturday my mom, my mother in law to be and I went shopping in Rotterdam to find me a wedding dress. It wasn't my intention to buy one right away, but I found the perfect dress so I'm totally excited now!
I had to order him right away, because it's a new brand they don't have stock and it's made all the way in China and it will take 6 months to get it here! That way we have enough time to adjust it if necessary. I will have to loose 10-15 kilo's otherwise it won't fit, so there's a lot work for me to do, but I'm sure I'll look stunning on our big day. I'm so lucky... my Mom and Dad gave me the dress as a present, really awesome! Thanks Mom, thanks Dad, you are the best!

Now I have made a decision on the dress I can start searching for the flowers, the cake, the cards and that sort of stuff. I can hardly believe it's really happening... we are getting married :D
I signed the contract for the location last week and we contracted the photographer a few months ago, as well as the marriage show. So everything is getting totally real right now.

Ofcourse I'm busy scrappin' as well. I'm working on some projects for December's Scrapbook Magazine and on some Christmas projects for the Graphic45 Design Team. I hope I'll be able to show you some projects soon.

XOXO

Yummy stuff!!!

My o my, I bought some yummy scrap-stuff yesterday!
For the first time ever I bought some My Minds Eye.... it has never really been my favorite brand to be honest, but the new Laundry line is totally my style!
I have some awesome ideas allready, but I need some more pictures to scrap!
And Prima has some totally cool stuff now, no sweet, cutie, lovely papers, but some awesome cool though papers and embies for a change. Have you seen their pebbles?! Makes you want them all!
Also bought some new October Afternoon Home Town collection, still in love with their papers and die cuts, too bad there are no rubons this time.
I'm still waiting for the new Sassafras Lass to arrive, can't wait to play with the little chipboard palls :)

I saw the new Scrapbook Magazine yesterday and my little presents are finally in there!
Are you looking for a baby or bridal present? Then you have to check it out!!

LOTD & G45 workshop

I was very disappointed yesterday when I missed the Bad Girls Academy deadline. I loved working on this layout using the mixing patterns technique and I am really happy with the result. And now I'm not able to join the classes anymore. I did upload the layout to my SIS gallery and guess what?!? I turned out to be Layout Of The Day!!!! I did a little happy dance when I found out :D

A little while ago I made a little workshop for the Graphic45 blog. Aimee published it yesterday and I would really like it if you visit the blog and join the workshop!!

maandag 22 september 2008

Missed the deadline!

I can't believe it! I miscalculated the Bad Girls Academy time zone and now I too late and dismissed.... :(
I made this layout for the class about mixing patterns in the colorscheme of the picture.
I choose the colors pink, black, white and a little bit of brown with a touch of silver and used 4 different patterns.

For a list of materials, please check out my SIS gallery
Thanks for looking and have a nice week!

I made it!

Can't wait to see the next assignment tonight :)

Homework

Last week I started a semester at the Bad Girls Academy.
Well today I finished my homework for this weeks class about layering...
Layering is definitely one of my favorite techniques and I can't get enough of the October Afternoon papers can you tell ;) ?
Never thought school could be so much fun!

On August 15th my only niece Indy celebrated her first birthday. My Mom and Dad gave her a doll. The picture is showing my Dad and Indy cuddling with the doll.
It's great to see how much joy this little girl brings to my Dad...

Thanks for stopping by and please have a look at the Bad Girls site: www.badgirlskits.com
